PROPOSALS FOR THE POST-CAPITALIST ECONOMY: A POEM

By Jennifer Armbrust

Proposals for working less.

Proposals for enjoying life more.

Proposals for getting our needs met.

Proposals for recovering our sense of purpose.

Proposals for activating our economic agency.

Proposals for harnessing our unacknowledged power.

Proposals for restoring our embodied sense of safety.

Proposals for taking care of ourselves.

Proposals for taking care of one another.

Proposals for centering the needs of our bodies.

Proposals for valuing all that we have.

Proposals for taking nothing for granted.

Proposals for less waste and ecologic destruction.
Proposals for more community, care, and belonging.
Proposals for defying capitalist logic.
Proposals for cultivating communal webs of resiliency.

Proposals for a radical re-conception of what a [feminist] business is and what it should do.

Proposals for choosing to behave as if capitalism is crumbling and it is up to us to develop new ways meet one another’s needs, because it is.

Proposals for contributing our incredible ingenuity and creativity to the cultivation of a new economic cosmology.

Proposals for applying all the entrepreneurial and systems-building skills we have been honing all these years to the cultivation of a new economy—one where we can all flourish.

These are just a few of the proposals I may be making in my new talk, Proposals for the Post-Capitalist Economy debuting November 18th (my birthday!) at 11am PT. Register today to reserve your spot.
