2015

Over a decade ago, I debuted my Proposals for the Feminine Economy, offering a gendered critique of capitalism and outlining my 12 Principles for Prototyping a Feminist Business. The talk’s remarkable success led me to launch Feminist Business School and publish a book that went on to sell thousands of copies.

I believe it is not hyperbolic to say that the Proposals gave birth to the the field of feminist entrepreneurship.

Eleven years later, we are dealing with intersecting crises of accelerating ecological devastation; the rise of techno-fascism; the dismantling of the social state; institutional terrorization of people of color, women, and trans folks; widespread economic instability; and pervasive chronic illness and autoimmunity.

As I wrote in Feminist Flourishing Framework, “The evidence of disease is everywhere. Capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, transphobia, settler colonialism, fascism—these are just a few of the diseases we are living with.”

To heal these systemic diseases in an effective and enduring way, we must get to the root of the illness. There can be no meaningful social, political, embodied, or ecological recovery as long as we remain tethered to an economic system engineered for unrestrained resource extraction and unmediated wealth consolidation.

In order to attend to these pressing crises, it is imperative that we radically transform our economic behaviors and beliefs and decrease our reliance on capitalism to fulfill our needs.

But how?

Join me on November 18th as I debut my Proposals for the Post-Capitalist Economy, with actionable approaches to finding our way out of capitalism, so we can all flourish.

I’ll offer a new model of needs-fulfillment and a radical reimagining what [feminist] business is and what role it can play in cultivating individual and communal resiliency as we undertake the collective work of cultivating a new embodied ecologic economic cosmology.
